SS 304 ERW pipe carries three recognized designations: UNS S30400, EN 1.4301, and JIS SUS 304. It is the most common 18/8 stainless grade, so fabricators in Nigeria already know how it cuts, bends, and welds.
The ERW process starts with a coil of 304 strip. Rollers form the strip into a round, and high-frequency current heats the two edges until pressure fuses them. No filler metal enters the joint. The weld bead is trimmed, then the pipe is heat-treated, sized, and straightened.
ERW construction gives tight dimensional control, even wall thickness and a smooth bore at a lower cost than seamless pipe in comparable sizes.
